Applying styles

Creating numbered lists
  • Place the cursor where the numbered list needs to be created.
  • Type the text of the list items.
  • Select the new text, but do not modify the formatting to a numbered list by using the paragraph and font settings under the home menu tab.
  • Instead, apply the List Numbered style of the right level for consistent formatting and a uniform layout with a single click.
  • There are 2 pre-made levels.
  • For a second-level list style, select the text, but do not use the increase paragraph indent function under the Home menu tab.
  • Instead, apply the List Numbered Level 2 style.
  • If only specific words need to be modified, select those words, and then manually change the font as usual with the paragraph and font settings under the home menu tab, but only after the correct style has been applied.
  • To restart a list, select the first list item and right-click on the selected text; then select “Restart at 1” or “Restart at a”.
  • To continue with regular text underneath the numbered list, select the text and apply the Body Text style [see tutorial: Applying styles: General text and paragraphs].
  • When creating numbered lists inside a table cell, apply the Table List Numbers style of the right Level for a more condensed format, as explained in the tutorial “Applying styles: Content of tables“.
